ATLAS CEDAR 1-Gal Cedrus atlantica |
These 1-gallon Atlas Cedars have not been actively shaped by us, but because they are so old (stems about as thick as dimes), they have taken on a bonsai look all on their own. With a little extra attention and shaping from a novice or expert bonsai artist, these cedars are sure to become prized bonsais. Atlas Cedar is a "true" or "Old World" Cedar from Northern Africa which grows to impressive sizes (over 160 feet tall with trunk diameters up to 20 feet). The tree has shiny bark and short, silvery-bluegreen needles that grow in tufted clusters. This is a very popular tree in both the Western and Eastern U.S. for its lush foliage and conical form (less spreading than other true cedars). Though deep-rooted and drought-resistant, Atlas Cedars prefer moist soil in temperate, humid regions. |
