Jonsteen is pleased to present a unique international tree, grown from seeds gathered in the beautiful hilltop forests surrounding Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Pine, sometimes called “Aleppo Pine” in the U.S., is native to the entire costal region around the Mediterranean Sea, where it has been a significant, widely used species for centuries. It is the most widespread Pine in the Mediterranean region and the most common naturally occurring and cultivated conifer in Israel. Jerusalem Pines grow rapidly to typical heights of 50 to 100 feet, and feature an open form and dense, light green foliage (2 to 6 inch-long needles in 2’s). This species prefers milder climates, and does especially well in California and the Southwest.
